G'day all!
Hi from Netfleet. We've always been big fans of ccTLD's (not just .au) so happy to find this forum! We're still acquiring & developing domains but also focussing on building Netfleet to be a decent marketplace with hopefully more & more domains bought & sold. Looking forward to discussing & sharing thoughts on the mighty .AU!! David

I hope tehy will make further changes, s that domains can be traed freely and you won't need a local presence.

.AU domains can now be freely traded with the following limitations:
1) domains can not be sold within 6 months of first registration 2) when domains are traded they are automatically renewed for a further 24 months 3) because transfers are a manual process, registrars charge a fee to complete. This in addition to 2) severely limits lower priced transactions. As for a local presence, if anyone from o/s registers an ARBN (which isn't too hard apparently) they can register domains without any problems... It would be a real boost though if they did relax the whole business number rule though

Hello Rick,
A quick introduction, my name is George Pongas and I am the CEO of DOMAIN8 PTLD LTD, one of the newest Australian registrars. DOMAIN8 PTY LTD - Portal Home To answer your question to David if I may (G'day David , my company does specialize in .au domain drops. We are currently the only company that publically displays a list of expired com.au and net.au domain names, though some of the other registrars do have private access lists & backorder services. Our clients have access to an auction platform that updates daily with domains that are scheduled to be purged from the registry. Winning bids are based on a success only fee, and on most days we enjoy a greater than 80% success rate catching contested .au domain names. Don't hesitate to contact me if you are interested to learn more about the expired domain drop in Australia. I will be happy to explain the details and guide you through our ccTLD's "policy-rich" environment. The auction is available at: DOMAIN8 PTY LTD - Portal Home PS: Happy to send you through some historical auction prices. Best regards, George Pongas DOMAIN8 PTY LTD | CEO |
