Belgium has several downsides when it comes to the domain market. First it is a small country, only 10 million population compared to its neighbour the Netherlands, 16 million. Then it is split into two language-wise (French and Dutch) and businesses are "required" to be bilingual. This makes it a bit tricky for generic terms should they not be the same in both languages, which is often the case. Thirdly, the internet is not as developed as in for instance the Netherlands : Belgium online population = approx 5 million, Netherlands online population = over 14 million. This said, internet penetration has grown very fast in the past few years in Belgium and will keep growing. There's no other option but up. So even though it is a small market it has incredible growth potential.
