So who are some of the good and fairly priced registrars for .ca domains?
I currently have an account with dotster and 2 other smaller registrars that I feel overcharge, and would like to move it all to one good company. |

Try MyID
http://snipurl.com/dj15c May not be the cheapest but they offer good service, etc. Another one to try is NamePros http://snipurl.com/dj1v8 $12.88/.ca domain/yr is pretty low! Last edited by Doms1995; 03-10-2009 at 03:34 PM. Reason: Additional Info |

I mainly use Namespro.ca for fresh regs, and for consolidating most of my .ca for ease of management.

How is Namespro.ca's UI?
All of my .ca domains are elsewhere right now, but my current registrars don't have very good UIs (can't even do bulk actions), so I'm possibly looking to switch registrars to save myself some time. |

http://www.10dollar.ca is amazing, been there for years - super cheap ($10), and feature rich. Never had a problem...

10 Dollar is cheap for .ca registrations. NamesPro has the best customer service which has been echoed in this thread already.

Another one I haven't seen mentioned above is netfirms.ca
Very good price to register .ca, and they have been steadily improving their admin panel so managing large numbers of domains is getting easier. |

livepublicity unless you are a Canadian citizen or have a business registered in Canada you cannot register a .CA domain through any registrar. The .CA registry manually checks every registration at some point to ensure the presence requirements have been met and if they have not they will delete your domain.

The domain would need to be registered in your friends name, he must be the registrant and all the contact information would need to be him. If the registry found out somehow that he registered the domain for someone else's use they can and will delete the domain. The name on the GD account doesn't matter, the registry doesn't have access to this information. What matters is who is the registrant and what contact details get sent to the registry.

I had spoke to a godday rep and he told me that they only need the name of the Canadian citizen or resident. not sure if this is safe i'll keep researching.
@Jason Lavigne thanks for the info. Regards |

Another vote for Namespro.ca which is $12.88 I think..
I would also recommend RegisterNames.ca which is $12.99/year but the people behind it have excellent prices / support. I think it may be affiliated with godaddy but nonetheless a great canadian registrar. |
