Hello!
I think the country code domain forum is a great idea - I hope it's a success and lots of "canucks" drop by this .ca thread. For visitors, just thought I would mention that owning a .ca domain does have Canadian "presence" requirements by the Canadian Internet Registration Authority. Cheers! |

Post your questions, answers, thoughts and initiatives... Here's a start: Where is the best place to sell my .ca's? Answer (IMHO)... end user sales of .ca domains will earn a decent return on your investment. I have yet to see .ca domains sell successfully with any consistency through any specific websites. Although, "DomainAssets" format has potential with a growing user base. So far, for me end user sales have been the only profitable sales. In general, without an open market .ca will remain limited in its ability to consistently sell-through with growing value. If you have GREAT .ca domains, don't waste them now. Invest in a future that "may" have a more open market. Godaddy picking up the .ca registration is a step in the right direction for .ca, but the Canadian "presence" requirement hurts the potential values. This however, also makes .ca a bargain in the current market. Buy, buy, buy? My two cents.

Anyone know what happened to myid.ca? they promoted their auctions, then faded away, then came back with another couple of auctions, then...nothing...I had poor service and terrible response times from customer service, and I'm left confused as to what is going on with them. Anyone know? I was happy for a little while in 2008 that there was a dotca marketplace, and lost a little enthusiasm for dotca, so some good news would be great.

.CA remains strong despite recent economic turmoil. Patience is required until
the next surge in online marketing. This time period provides a great opportunity to pick up solid names. |

What I love about .CA is how much advertising I see for it on television. Whenever I am watching a hockey game here in the states on Center Ice, I always see a company with a .CA in their ad.

Hello! The title of this post caught my eye. WelcomeTo.ca is mine.
I thought I let it expire. whew. I liked the look and feel of it. I am open to offers. ![]() I am very confident that although Canadians are a little slow out of the gate they are starting to use .ca more and more. Google returns results based on your location and if you are searching from a location in Canada you will be served results for Canada with some .com's as well. Another great push would be to remove the resident restrictions so they can be used by anyone interested in the Canadian market. Kudos to gdaddy for jumping on board. Any many thanks to Rick Latona and his group for promoting Country code tld's. Myid.ca has made an effort in the .ca field as well, thanks to them also. Cheers, go Canada go! http://www.CanadaNames.com Last edited by Canname; 03-11-2009 at 11:20 PM. |

Yes, you can't help but notice the growing use of .ca in advertising across Canada. It's great to see!
Businesses (and marketers) are using .ca to reach Canadians. Judging by CIRA's posted numbers, over 10,000 new .ca's are being registered every month. I'm hoping more domain services develop for .ca - we could use some more marketplaces and events to raise the profile of .ca |

Hello everyone!
Great to see another place for those dealing in .ca. I'm active in all levels of .ca but prefer to develop rather than hoard/park and flip. Hope to see and talk to more developers of .ca!
