You might open a new section on Bulgaria.

.BG is not really exploited yet. Although, I have to admit, registering with Register.BG is real.ly a pain. They ask for 30 EUR for each renewal, quit expensive - this is main.ly why .com and .net are still popular in the country. But also they don't react to the e-mails and no telephone support. Once I have registered four domains, the payment got stuck and I could not proceed. So these names are still for grab. Anyone tried .bg yet? I would love to hear your experience.

Sorry, a typo, this is indeed 30 EUR, already corrected in the post above. This is still near.ly $50 - five times more expensive than .com - no wonder all Bulgarians are into cheaper generics.

"3. Send the application form for domain name registration according to point 1 and the documents according to point 2 to Register.BG's mailing address or present them in any of the offices." they only accept the originals. you also need to send them a business certificate and it needs to be stamped, so that it passes as original for them. ![]() if you wanna have a person as owner, the form even needs to be notarized... locals can get a digital certificate and don't need to do this, but foreigners have a little work to do

Thanks a lot Thomas, this explains why the last application was rejected.
Well, I guess, it is much of a hustle, will continue with Bulgarian.coms as they spare the paperwork. Cheers!

What do you think is better IDN .com or ASCII .com in Bulgaria?
Bulgarian words with Latin characters or English words? |

Of course transliterated names, this holds for Russian and Ukrainian too. It is a bit tricky, as a letter "x" can be transliterated as "kh" (official spelling), "h", "x" and this is only one letter. Add a dozen of other Cyrillic letters, and this becomes a nightmare. For "today" in Ukrainian we had to secure some six spellings.
