Hi,
I didn't find any sub forum for .TR domains (Turkey) and I'm therefore posting my thread here. Feel free to move it if I'm lost =) I've been in contact with nic.tr in an issue regarding one of my domains, and it was through that communication I first got aware of this. According to the nic.tr there is an ongoing legislation process is taking place in Turkey. With effect from November 10th, 2008 Electronic Communications Act 5809 amended the whole rule-making process transferring to INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES AUTHORITY powers to make rules and regulations affecting the management and administration of .tr country code Top Level Domain. The .tr domain is only open for second level registrations today, such as com.tr and web.tr. In order to register a com.tr domain you need to send nic.tr a copy of your company registration certificate. However, web.tr domains are available for anyone. My question is simply if anybody here got any additional information about the "2008 Electronic Communications Act 5809" and how this will affect the .tr domain. Will they open up for registrations directly under the .tr domain? Is there anything specified about the future requirements for registration? Anything said about the pricing? Anything else in the act 5809 that might be interesting in a domaining perspective? |
