Lightbulb Suggest a ccTLD Forum

So we started out with what we felt were the biggest ccTLDs out there currently - however there is always a room for improvement!

What ccTLDs do you want to discuss here that are currently not listed? Let us know and we would be happy to get them added!

Could you just add another forum for "others"?

If there was enough interest you could create extra fora for specific ccTLDs, but some of the whackier ones aren't likely to get much in the way of posts (I can't imagine many people own .kz domains for example)

I Agree. If a ccTLD get enough attention you could simple remove it from the "Others" section.

Would it be possible to regionalise the forums (European), (American), (Asia-Pacific), (African) along the IP registry lines? Or even better, ccTLDs (de/uk/etc) and repurposed ccTLDs (tv/cc/ws/etc).

Regards...jmcc

That would make a lot of sense. If every single ccTLD has its own forum and no divisions are made you'd end up scrolling forever

.bz is not particularly strong but have sold some domains around $1000 us,

initially restarted as repurposed ".bz means business" also can be typo of .biz

i'd think of sponsoring it, or maybe a regional for central america? i like the idea of regionalizing ccTLDs

There are a few greek domainers out there, so maybe a .gr (greek) domain section.. Saying this, I know that the greek aftermarket is very limited, and .gr registrations are still quite expensive...

.vc - Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, but no presence requirements.
It can be used as a re-purposed TLD to stand for "Venture Capital", "Virtual Community", "Vancouver" (my city!) or something along those lines.
One of the most interesting things about this TLD is that you can still register two character domains while most exts don't allow that anymore.

For example, I own http://DN.vc/ and it's a domain industry news site.

.bz - Belize, but also no presence requirements and has been marketed to stand for "Business." I've already seen some requests to add a .bz forum, so count me in as an extra vote...

First post here by the way, happy to be here!

Hi all - saw Rick's tweets and decided to join up!

How about .TH ? Maybe just a flag on top?

Thailand's THNIC runs the registry for this ccTLD. They used to run the only registrar, but the last couple of years have seen considerable liberalization. There are several competing registrars now, and I expect ownership restrictions to be removed in the coming years as well.

.co.th is stillextremely restrictive and according to the information we got, it doesn't look like they will change in the near future. A couple of years back they decided to release .th toplevel, but shortly after the information leaked, the plan was canceled.

There are still many good domains available in the .co.th domain space, but the same can be said for .co.id for example.

@snicksnack the .co.th domains are restricted to those with companies registered in Thailand. Individuals need to get .in.th
For me the most promising area is the IDN *.th, which are allowed as second level domains like ***3650;***3619;***3591;***3649;***3619;***3617;.th

I see some of the EU countries' attraction to their local country codes as a way of seeking out local companies, as opposed to global corps found by typing in *.com I think this trend is here to stay as citizens get more net savvy, and I think it'll be true in Thailand as well.

I also like the Thai language with .th instead of ASCII, since their words are so difficult to transliterate without ambiguity. The only way advertisers can pass the "radio test" is to use native language domains.
