Fantastic sale, and it's great to see co.za's starting to reach their full potential.

Speaking of which, it would be great if cctlds.com could add a dedicated co.za forum. Admins, could you please make this happen?

Thumbs up Re: .co.za leads the Latona's TRAFFIC auction

Exciting indeed! It's about time the .co.za got its own forum here considering Rick has now made a bit of cash on them now.

With the upcoming Soccer World Cup in South Africa this year it is sure to heat things up.

As I have said before here, .co.za is the gateway domain for Africa as it is the most stable and most widely used in Africa! So I too have great expectations.

Come see some great names at CoZaNic.com!

Hello to all!

I just joined today and am looking forward to the addition of co.za to this forum as there is tremendous development opportunity and activity in the space.

What is the latest on this addition from the admins or am I just missing it and it has already been added?

What we have seen in terms of co.za sales is just the tip of the iceberg. There are so many unreported sales that would really surprise most of us, including myself.

I look forward to active membership here at cctlds.com...

Regards,

Gavin

Smile Re: .co.za leads the Latona's TRAFFIC auction

hey Gavin, welcome here... and congrats on your sale!

To be honest I would have had serious reservations about forking out 5K 3 months ago! What made you think it was a good investment? So you going to be buying more .co.za domains now?

I agree many sales are unreported - probably due to tax reasons!

South Africa has this uncanny ability to bring up surprise deals. The most memorable being the sale of Thawte (a SA company) to Verisign for 500 Million USD in 2000! Mark Shuttleworth had to leave most of the money offshore it was so much in South African terms. Even had enough to buy a ticket to space!

the .co.za domain is very unique in the world. Let's hope the investors agree.

I am buying co.za domains. If you have any to sell please email them to me. I am especially keen to bulk deals. Only looking for premium quality domains.

Fly.co.za - This name is easily worth over $100,000 USD. The buyer got a very good deal considering the site was already a jump started business. I am confident you will see Fly.co.za within the top 500 sites via alexa within SA in the near future, it is approx 1,700 today.

The co.za space is prime for development within the right niches, travel being one of the strongest. People throw around the word "development" in this business too freely. Putting up a deeper parking page is not development.

Wink Re: .co.za leads the Latona's TRAFFIC auction

With Rick Latonas next auction in Milan, what do you think these are worth?

Rome.co.za
Milan.co.za
Cannes.co.za
Villa.co.za

I am considering submitting USA.co.za for the auction... but might wait till the Vancouver auction which is just before the World Cup Starts or the Miami event later.

Great sale Gavin, congrats.

Have to agree, development is the key and have been whittling down my portfolio to concentrate on development. There is a huge need for dropshippers but for now private agreements will have to suffice.
