Default .cz vs .com

Hello

i visited last summer Cz republic and i was very surprised to discover that most of domains were .cz. It was very strange to see a .com.

Wich is the situation of .cz in Czech? is it preferred to .com?

thanks for sharing

Yes, it's quite normal in most European countries that ccTLD is king and used much more often than .com or .eu. The same is in Poland. People know that under their own ccTLD domain name they will find appropriate content and services directed towards them,

I check months ago, some words.

And I was surprised because some domains .cz are taken and the same domain in .com is free. Incredible.

Alfredo - that is normal In countries where people don't use .com, it's usually useless to register keywords under .com. It changes when this is also the name of the company and if the company wants to do business also outside the native country. Then .com domain can be useful.

TLD preference here:

1. CZ

nothing
nothing
more nothing

2. EU
3. INFO, COM
4. NET
5. ORG
6. BIZ

spots 2-6 all combined represent like 10 % used domains maybe... .cz is the king of course

In Sweeden, the people love .se but they register .com too. Later, They only use .se

Interesting to see that .eu has better position than .com and .com is as popular as .info. But the same is in Poland, only .info is not so popular. For me that means that .eu has quite good future ahead But let's wait and see..

BTW I've checked stats, domains in Czech Republic:

.cz 531,828 72%
.eu 81,058 11%
.com 74,199 10%
.net 22,350 3%
.info 17,320 2%
.org 8,901 1%
.biz 4,863 1%

TOTAL: 740,519

.cz domain in the czech republic is very, very popular.
Many companies in our building on the mark and register the domain as a mark.
Example - superhry.cz is the mark.
Company have like .cz domain than because they are stray. com.
Maybe it is that .cz or .eu is less than .com.
78% is good number.

Arrow Re: .cz vs .com

How about .com having a "cz" in it, e.g.: 1cz1.com ?

I've been living in Czech republic for the past 7 years and I can confirm what you have mentioned, .cz is the king and while a .cz keyword can be valued at $200,000 the .com equivalent is worth $xxx to $x,xxx
