Default What do you guys think of these .de names I just registered and my translations?

Have I translated these properly?

tourismusspezialist.de = tourismspecialist

besuchehawaii.de = visit hawaii (the „besuche“ term works with a lot of cities/countries)

vermeidestress.de = avoid stress

badekurorte.de = spa, health resort, spa town / plural, singular is taken

tourismusspezialist.de - is okay
besuchehawaii.de - better would be besuche-hawaii.de
vermeidestress.de - better would vermeide-stress.de
badekurorte.de - pretty good domain - not too many searches, but good (niche market)

Why do you think the hyphenated versions are better for those two-worders?

The problem with imperatives is, that we have two forms, an informal one and a formal one.

That might prevent imperative domain names from being used widely...

Though you did pretty good for a non-German speaker, as they are all correct.

Is Visit Hawaii the only imperative?

"avoid stress" is an imperativ as well. Was that your question?

I just tried to explain that "visit hawaii" is short and sweet.
In German the translation could be either

- besuche Hawaii (informal)
- besuch Hawaii (both versions are correct and used - it's more are question of how easy it is to pronounce, wether leaving the "e" or not)
- besuchen Sie Hawaii (formal)

Therefore Germans might not tend as much to imperatives in domain names, as English speakers do.

I like "vermeide stress", it's pretty straight and clear.

I would focus on tourismusspezialist.de - a good name indeed.

You're right! I'm glad I didn't have to learn this language at school ;-)

How about the native english speakers. How do you comprehend "visit Hawaii"? Rather in terms of an imperativ ("YOU, go and visit Hawaii, right now!") or an infinitiv ("to visit Hawaii")?

I suppose you perceive it as an imperativ but on the other hand expressions like "buy now" are often being translated as "jetzt kaufen" (="to buy now").

Sorry to say, but most of these domains are not worth the reg fee.

I might see some chances for these four:
