Who can register .ec?

The names under the following extensions (.ec, .com.ec, .info.ec...) may be registered by:

Companies, organizations or persons
Ecuadorian or non Ecuadorian
Without local presence requirement

What are .ec second level domains?

EC Use in general.
COM.EC Commercial use in general.
INFO.EC Information in general.
NET.EC Providers of Internet Services.
FIN.EC Financial Institutions and Financial Services.
MED.EC Medical , Health or Pharmaceutical Institutions and Organizations and related with Medicine subjects.
PRO.EC For professionals in general like lawyers, architects, accountants, etc.

Fees for Non-Ecuadorians:
.ec, com.ec, net.ec = $ 50 / year

The fees for non-Ecuadorians are considered for all the domain names whose Registrant or Administrative Contact is not Ecuadorian or organization registered in Ecuador. To these fees, 12% IVA, Valued Added Tax must be added according to Ecuador Tax Law, including non-Ecuadorians.

Nic.ec don't have a list of blocked domains.
