I just reviewed sedo's "Domain-Marktstudie 2008", published in February 2009.

Interest on .EU is quite high, sedo's numbers show this:

Regarding the numbers of domains sold, .EU was the 2nd best ccTLD (and 3rd best TLD at all!) in 2007, and the 3rd best ccTLD in 2008 (2nd place missed by only 2 domains against .co.uk). .EU's landrush took place April, 2006.

Even the ccTLD volume of sales looks fine for .EU:

The figures aren't that surprising if all you look at is sheer volumes.

When .eu launched there were .eu domains listed on Sedo within hours

But how much are people actually paying for the domains?

I also collected some datas and exampels for .eu, there are some really important companies using .eu, and they do not only use them as defensive registration, but they are ranked within no 1 to 3 in Google and actively used with hundreds of backlinks:

The highest .eu deal had been 250,000 EUROS in 2006 through SEDO.
