It's nice to see that AFNIC presents this price drop from €15 in 2002 to €4.80 in 2006. Polish .pl registry could take this as a sample for itself.. (prices in Poland for .pl registrars are twice as much).

AFNIC has now 1.4 million domain names registered, only few thousands less than NASK (.pl registry).

A difference, for .fr you need local address and .pl don't have restrictions.

And that is big advantage for .pl! But price is not. And also all those foreigners who want to register .fr domain name will use proxy services and will get it. That's why I think all those restrictions are useless and only allow registrars to earn some additional $$$ for additional proxy services, which really doesn't give any additional value.
