Hello,
I know that in order to register .fr domains you have to be a french citizen and have an address in france. But there are some companies that can register .fr domains for you in their name for e.g. register.be. Does anyone know any other registrars that can do this? Thanks |

Thanks for replying! I see marcaria charges $95/year! Is there anyone cheaper?

EuroDNS
InternetX united-domains.de or domaindiscount24.de (not sure which one it was, but it was a bit expensive anyway) |

Don't you think this whole thing about residency requirement is against EU law? People and companies from all kind of countries should be equal and should have the same opportunity to buy domains in EU countries.
In my opinion this kind of restrictions should not be present and I hope that someone finally will see it. Or maybe we should search some responsible body in EU and ask what can we do about it. What do you guys think? DD

But this residency problem is not only the case for France. It's also about other countries like .de (to some extent), .ca (ok, they aren't in EU so if they want they can protect their market - don't care so much really but would like to invest there anyway) etc. DD

Since the .fr ccTLD was designed for France, I think those restrictions are not unfair.
