Are geo .in domains worth anything?
I came across a domain that was the name of a town in India with a .in extension. Is it worth anything?

Let's just say "I hope so" though I've been picking up mostly geos in other english speaking countries as I'm not familiar with what works in india... but I do think it's an excellent extension for geos. I have around 75 geos for the US for example, but I haven't done the development yet on them that they will need to get any kind of traffic.
Just for reference - I focused on cities with > 100k populations (about 250 or so in the US) and pretty much all of them had over 750k monthly searches. Someone else must be in the market as quite a few of those 250 were taken (rick? I'm looking at you!) But I figure I can single handedly make an impact on the market in the US as that reaches a heck of lot of people and combined it's probably close to 100 million monthly searches available for the taking but it's going to require development or else it's not gonna work. Toledo.in here I come! |

I have some large (population-wise) geos and they get no traffic. I'm hoping they will follow similar geo trends in other extensions and be worth something in the future..
