Well, I was putting together my business plan for my growing portfolio of .in geos (over 250 now) and while I have some very nice names, they aren't the NewYork.in's. In doing my investigations of developed Geo .in's I found that very, very few "Big Name" geos outside of India have actually been developed (as in, anything more than just a two page parked page). Heck, even NewDelhi.in is essentially a two page parked site. But I figure the Indian geos will work themselves out. I'm looking for developed geos outside of India using the .in extension. If you run one or know of one, please post 'em or PM me.

I don't mean to call any one person out specifically (I'm calling you out, but en masse - not personally )... but here's a "quick" list of the .in geo domains that haven't been developed *yet* and their current status. Without at least half of these names undergoing some form of development, I don't think the .in extension for use in geos can be considered relevant, even if I develop all 250 of my domains. The list of undeveloped geos is much much longer, but these names could turn heads if they are developed and can start to gain traction/search engine love.

Vegas.in - 2 page parked. Better than most but still not much there

Miami.in - Parked. Good luck domains
Orlando.in - Parked. Good luck domains

SanFrancisco.in - Parked. Good luck domains
LosAngeles.in - Sedo parked. 1 visitor
Nashville.in - Parked. Good luck domains
Chicago.in - Server cannot be found
Indianapolis.in - Server cannot be found - not even parked right
Denver.in - Parked. Good luck domains
Washington.in - Parked
Atlanta.in - Sedo parked. Not setup correctly apparently
Boston.in - Server cannot be found
Dallas.in - Server cannot be found
Houston.in - Server cannot be found
Florida.in - Sedo parked. 9 visitors
California.in - 2 page parked.
Hawaii.in - Parked. Good luck domains
Honolulu.in - Parked. Good luck domains
London.in - Sedo Parked. 90 visitors

I am surprised at the popularity of geos.in outside of India. I have yet to come across a developed geo.in (excluding indian cities/states etc) and am sure their popularity is being driven by domain investors.

I checked australian geo.in's and sure enough every major city and state is registered. Even the smaller cities are registered...wow.

It will be interesting to see if enduser's share this enthusiasm. Are there any developed geo.in's that are non-indian related? btw I'm talking about a fully developed website, not a minisite put up by a domainer.

You have to look really really hard. Raleigh(dot)in has a site for Indians in Raleigh for example. There are a couple of sites for the odd destination here and there. All I can say at this point regarding that "domain investor" activity and the lack of developed content/end user appeal is "stay tuned"
