To change registrant (who is the real owner of the domain) is now a not easy process.
You have for first to authenticate you as registrant and then submit a form to request the registrant change. The process involve sending documenation (scanned as email attachments or by fax) and when the authentication is confirmed you will also have to mail the form. The documenation requested change according to who is the registrant (company or individual, Mexican or foreigner) so the only way to know exactly what they need to receive from you and how to proceed is to contact the support stuff of your registrar. If you have the domain at NIC.mx then you should contact ayuda@nic.mx. And that is not all, after changing registrant (be prepared to need at least 4 o 5 days if you are lucky) you will have to complete the transfer changing the other contacts (admin, tech and billing) but this can be done online and it is not a big issue. Until few months ago only changing the contacts online was sufficient but after introducing the figure of "registrant" the process has been complicated as above briefly described. |

The "registrant" (REG-ID) is a simbolic figure. Because he doesn't have any control in the domain. Anyway if it is necesary to somebody, the change is very easy to make (only fill a pdf document scanned and send as email attachments and wait at least 5-10 days).
Only changing the contacts (NIC-IDs) is sufficient for the new owner can take all the control in the domains. If the NIC-ID want to delete, modify or sell a new owner the domain, he can do. But de REG-ID can't do anything. Greetings |

Attilio is right.
No, it is not. The legal owner is the REG-ID Of course it is necessary when selling. You are confusing other people trying them to think like we mexicans do. We always find a way to avoid burocracy, and many times this way of thinking lead us to believe law is unnecesary. But people from other countries tend to be more legal focused when buying and selling, because on their countries the law enforcement is FOR REAL. There was a "problem" with the implementation of the RegID: NicMexico didnīt give the control to the legal owner (RegID). The control (even for deleting the name) belongs to the Administrative Contact. But no big deal, this could be more transparent with risk share: pay 50%, full transfer (5-10 days), pay the other 50% |

Nic.mx have come to confuse the thing really, because they invent a crappy new contact instance (REG-ID) to fuck domainer's life ![]() Quote:
