It is not ony the translation that counts, you should also know your market. bakfietsen.nl for example is a huge name in the Netherlands, where a lot of money is spent on carrier cycles / transportation bikes. I cannot see a name like that being that big in any country.


I think most of the translations given above are pretty accurate or spot-on. And if you plan to spend a few thousand on a name I assume you do some research yourself.

You are absolutely right. The research on ccTLD market is very, very important. Each country has it's own culture, language, people are used to different things. But good translation will help at least in the very begging of the research

I haven't seen any .cn domains auction.
