Default .nz traffic

I notice that a lot of my .com and .net domains get traffic from New Zealand.

Does anyone have experience with .nz names and have anything to report about their traffic?

Thanks in advance!

Do any get type-in traffic?

I would imagine you could get great search engine rankings in google.co.nz...

I read about the .nz days ago.

A lot of domains .nz was drop off because of crisis.

Maybe it's a good oportunity to find good domains free.

I traveled last year to New Zealand and everybody use .nz. But they are only 3.000.000 of population. I think the type-in isn't enought

My thoughts exactly. Just not enough of a population to get huge type in traffic.

plenty of good generics domains are still or again available. I have some, but the type in traffic is rather low. Still, worth to register a few and hold on to them, one day the population in Newzealand might increase ;-)

http://www.expireddomains.co.nz/
http://www.discountdomains.co.nz/

Both the above run backordering services.

the competition on the backorders is normally not really high and nice generics go for a very low price. Also you can still hand register decent generics.

currently zz.co.nz and gv.co.nz are up for auction on Expired Domains

http://www.expireddomains.co.nz/deta...main_id=307055 - details for zz.co.nz
http://www.expireddomains.co.nz/deta...main_id=292757 - details for gv.co.nz

this might give you an idea. I have seen some 2 letters / 2 numbers in the past, but cannot recall the amount. Must check if I can see it in my account history.

Watch out too.... some of the investors down here allow the auction to run it's course to see what the domain gets up to and then just reregister.

You win the auction then get a message at 12.30am "sorry we could not register that domain because the original owner renewed "
