Information about *.pl domains

One can register the domain *.pl for one or some years.

The registration doesn't cause any restriction.

The domain *.pl one can reserve for 14 days without any costs by most of the registers - in that time the domain may be registered only by the person who made the reservation for it. If the person will abandon the registration, then after those 14 days (the period of the reservation) the domain gets the status of set which takes 5 days. After that period the domain gets back to the basket of free domains. During the period of set - those 5 days - it is possible to register the domain by some of the registers for example by Dropped.pl or PPD.pl but it cannot be reserved.

To each domain there should be available a code Authinfo(~Authcode) by the register (it allowes to move the domain between the registers) - after each change one must wait 21 days to the next change of the reigster.

The domain can be renewed after beeing operated a year but not earlier that 31 days before it gets set. If the domain doesn't get renewed within those days then the set time is being started of 14 days, when the domain does exist - does function but the old owner can prolong it on the basis of the normal costs for the prolonging. If it doesn't happen, then after 14 days the domain gets back to the free domain basket.

The domain *.pl one can test - DNT - the domains may be tested within 14 days - if during this time one doesn't decide to pay it, the domain has 5 days of the set time and then gets back to the free domain basket.

On the domain *.pl one can place so called options (Waiting List Service - WLS) which means that it gives the pre-emption within 3 years - it means that from the moment we buy the options for some domain and within 3 years the domain won't be paid by the present owner, then after 14 days of set time it won't get back to the free domain basket but it will be sent to us on the account as a reserved one for the next 14 days - such service is called NASK - so we are sure that the domain will get to us though not being paid. For one domain one can place only one option.

DomainTalk.pl is definately much, much, much less popular than di.pl but still this is another domaining forum dedicated to .pl domains.

There's also subforum for foreigners in English.
