Hello everyone!
I am holydash, Tokyo-city-boy from Japan. I am interested in United Kingdom domain market, so "why .uk-registrants is over 7.77 million existed". Then I read nominat report, I have two question, 1. What is "parked holding" and what kind of site about "parked holding"? 2. What is "parked PPC". and what kind of site about "parked PPC"? I understand PPC is pay-per-click, but I don't know the purpose of them (for example "re-sell"? "SEO"?). In Japan, as I know, domain for PPC is not so many (especially personal side-business is few). And I need your openion/finding as possible, why is the number of .uk-registrants large? (resell market is big? personal side business of eC is major? domain cost is low?) |

A 'parked' domain displays ads and usually nothing else. You can 'park' a domain with some registrars or go to Sedo ( or similar ). When someone reaches your domain and clicks on one of the ads you get paid - how much depends on type of the ad and your agreement with ad broker.
I don't really know what 'parked holding' is but my guess is that it refers to parking a domain pro forma in hope of making a sale somewhere down the road. .uk domains are attractive because there's are no requirements for registrants to meet - anyone can register a .uk domain, you get 2 years for the price of .com's single year and the aftermarket is very lively. |
