Default Here are some recent .uk names I've purchased.

18kgold.co.uk
bowlingballs.com
Orphans.co.uk

I wouldn't consider any of those as amazing but I didn't pay much for them. Searching for .uk names is only slightly less hard than searching for .com names.

Anyway, I'm buying...

So what kind of domains are you interested in buying?

The only problem I've had with acquiring co.uk domains in the past has been when the seller doesn't know much about how Nominet handles transfers etc., so they assume (incorrectly) that it's the same process as a .com

For uk names, I prefer category killer eCommerce names when I can get them. We haven't had any problems educating sellers.

Have to agree the UK market for nice niche affiliate sites are gold. Personally I went in to buying some finance names.

Such as PPI---- co---- uk what with the while PPI industry in dis-array lawyers are now paying upwards of £100 per lead.. Time to get developing

I agree to a point, it can be an education informing sellers who maybe only have one or two domains registered 10+ years ago about the transfer process, I'm in the middle of explaining it this morning on a domain I am buying.

Nominet however are a pretty professional and helpful organisation when it comes to dealing with enquiries and so a safe pair of hands to refer sellers on to.

I can truly see the .co.uk aftermarket taking off soon. Nominet has recently simplified the domain transfer process for .co.uk domains. Not as simple as .com, but almost. I'm not being biased, but the .co.uk could soon be the leading ccTLD!

Here is a sample of my .co.uk portfolio:
Departmental.co.uk
Insistence.co.uk
Organisational.co.uk
Organizational.co.uk
Ought.co.uk
Privatization.co.uk
Reluctance.co.uk
Remainder.co.uk
Sociological.co.uk
Thereby.co.uk
Unionist.co.uk
Wellknown.co.uk
Whatsoever.co.uk
Whereby.co.uk
Willingness.co.uk
Likelihood.co.uk

Descriptive .co.uk domains are primed for retail affiliate sites. Done correctly you can easily make upwards of £1k a month on each domain.

I had a shoe related domain, descriptive for the type of footwear. Bought at Reg Fee, spent about £100 in development and design, attached it to an XML affiliate feed and some well placed adsense ads.

The domain earned upwards of £7k last year with a single affiliate partner.

Other niche domains I have are operating via price comparison software, and net about £2k a year each.

The ROI from development and good content on UK domains, is exponential by comparison to parking.

You have to look at it from the point of view that it takes only a couple of affiliate sales to get back your investment, and everything after that is pure profit.

I agree. I've put together about 300 premium uk names so far. Not a ton but not bad for being new to the game.

Congratulations Rick on your new forum...excellent idea!

I believe .Co.UK would ultimately prove to be one of the most lucrative domain investments for all kinds of reasons. This is a country that loves finance and spread betting and soon everyone here will catch on to domains once they realize the value just like we are obsessed with property!

Anyways here are a cool few out of my extensive .co.uk portfolio:

fundinvestments.co.uk
retaildiamonds.co.uk
londontemps.co.uk
donatesperm.co.uk
smsfx.co.uk
housinginsurance.co.uk
mobileyellowpages.co.uk
Leicestersquare.com - prime geo
LondonDocklands.com - prime geo

I sold AffiliateRevenue.co.uk for £2000 last year and a few more, and just bought Bankshare.co.uk and plan to start a new bank! Yep...you only need £10M to get FSA approval. I think we are all sick over here of these toxic banks, I plan to use social networking like zopa.com and ask everyone to pony up £100.00 each on deposits to start. Ambitous yes but quite feasible.

I look forward to your presence at TRAFFIC in June, it's going to be wicked!!

Cheers!
Robert

I did not get any interest. My work educating the masses has a long way to go.

Sure, I'll review the submissions.

I really don't have that many .co.uk domains, the one that used to get good traffic is paulpotts.co.uk.

Transfer

That has the info.

It will require the user to use Online Services. Chances are, they don't have the details for this but you can get them sent by simply doing a "reset password' from this page, ensuring you use the same email address that you used when registering the domain: https://secure.nominet.org.uk/auth/login.html
