Hi all,

It now shows 1,608,868 as active,

compares to just over 1,440,000 names ~ 2months ago,

a jump of over 150,000 names in the last 2 months ?

any one have any more info on this, or the stats may be wrong ?

Stevie where is the source for your stats, if those numbers are right then that means that people are finally realizing the potential of .US , I believe that gradual, but steady growth is better and helps to preserve the quality of this extension in the long run. IMO

Over 2 days 155,000 + .us names were added

Tuesday 03/24/2009 gained 38,125 .us names
Wednesday 03/25/2009 gained 117,360 .us names

2 big days,
I know for a fact if you go straight to neustar you will get a massive discount buying names in bulk.

not neustar as far as i can tell, as think they may have the sense to update there news page.

Will see if i can see who regged all the names,

2 sources so far say this is correct.

we'll find out soon enough.

Someone might be getting a lot of the geo targeted domains, that’s the only category that can justify all these new registrations. IMO

Maybe we should have waited a little longer before letting everyone know about this hidden gold mine.

This should clear up any confusion or confuse you even more. You can download the new registrations for each day you mentioned (24,25,26,27 March) below :

25th and 26th are the big files with the most new reg`s. However it doesn`t look like geo domains or anything special, just the same registrant registering a lot of random letter .us domains. The registrant seems to be thomas@spenglers.biz using the registrar ACRC DOMAINS.

That was just a quick check however, if you look at the files in more depth you could find something I missed.

Seems very strange the combo of names that were regged,

seems like a waste of time and money to me.

Wow, after browsing the first two lists I started to think this is some kind of computer program making these registrations, some kind of random experiment. LOL
